As the craftsmen Grant had hired became more familiar with his style, they began to suggest modifications that would make the designers simpler to transform into real pieces.
World Lion Day
Tuesday 10th August is a day dedicated to raising awareness of one of the animal kingdom’s most beautiful and fearsome creatures. Founded by Big Cat Rescue, the day brings people together globally to pay tribute to lions and spread the word that their numbers have dramatically dwindled, to the point where the species will become endangered.

As he began to develop his modern collection for retail, Grant started to outgrow his parents’ basement. By the summer of 1970, he was ensconced in a workshop on the top floor of a property at Benjamin Street, with large plate glass windows looking eastwards towards the Barbican.

Napkin rings were originally designed to identify household napkins between wash days - they would be laundered once a week, and the rings allowed guests to claim a napkin as their own, so as not to accidentally use somebody else’s.
