Celebrating London Craft Week with ‘The Call of the Wild.’
There’s something uniquely evocative about the words 'The Call of the Wild' that conjures images of the Alaskan frontier, of the Yukon Gold Rush and adventures in the dangerous frozen wilderness of North America. With lumberjacks, endless pine forests, gold prospectors and of course that most iconic native creature, the mighty grizzly bear. So when we created our own masterwork of such an epic creature and its natural setting, we knew what we had to call it.
The Peak of Elegance
For over forty years we have worked closely with our customers in the Middle East to produce masterpieces that represent and tell the story of their remarkable history and culture. One iconic animal from the region is the majestic Arabian Falcon, revered in Arabic culture, its symbolism dates back into distant antiquity and the earliest civilisations of Mesopotamia and Babylonia.
The Remarkable Secret History of the Paper Knife
Is this a paper knife or a letter opener? Good question. The paper knife was not intended for opening letters, as the name suggests it was used for paper. Not any old paper either, paper knives evolved for cutting the leaves of books.
Peace on the High Ground
‘Peace on the High Ground’ is an impressive sculpture, depicting a majestic wild mountain ram. It’s immortalised here standing at 23cm high - a little lower than it’s traditional Rocky Mountain habitat - and crafted in exquisite detail in just over 1387g of sterling silver.

As silversmiths we usually focus on the metal in our masterworks. However, it has always been part of London’s artisan community to find stone cutters, enamellers, box, silk and ribbon makers that are as much a part of the history of gold and silver working as the silversmiths themselves.
