Okavango Lioness and Cub
Grant Macdonald Silversmiths are proud to support the work of the charity Tusk whose patron is HRH The Duke of Cambridge. Tusk is a dynamic and pioneering organisation with over twenty five years of initiating and funding conservation, community development and environmental education programmes across Africa.
Lions across the world are under threat from poaching. We have named our Lioness after the Okavango Delta, the delta is a UNESCO world heritage site and home to one of the most important core lion populations in southern Africa. Due to the growing human population and habitat loss, lions now occupy less than 8% of their historic range. They are killed in retaliation for loss of livestock or human life, and while these majestic beasts were once found across the entire continent, they are now confined to East and Southern Africa. Well-managed protected areas are vital for lion survival, support is needed to continue this vital work and to protect this wildlife rich wilderness.
This collection of animals is made from sterling silver with finely chased details which really bring these masterpieces to life.
