At Grant Macdonald London, we make it our mission to ensure that every piece that leaves our London workshop is exquisite, whether we’re producing a classical masterwork or a bold artistic statement. For over five decades, we have been creating the finest silver and gold objects, and after earning a reputation for outstanding quality and service, serving palaces, public institutions and collectors worldwide, we’ve got the process of taking a commission down to a fine art.
When you reach out to a member of our in-house team, we will invite you to a creative consultation, where you’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about our process, and you can share your ideas for what you’d like us to create for you. This first conversation will be a chance for us to get to know each other before we begin the process of transforming your ideas into a reality.
After the creative consultation is completed, our in-house designers will produce concept artwork for you to consider. Our designers are capable of plucking an idea that exists only within your imagination, and realising it as a remarkable physical object using the traditional silversmithing talents of our craftsmen. In addition to these traditional skills, our state-of-the-art technology allows us to do things with precious metals that would not have been possible only a couple of decades ago. Designing the impossible is one of the core tenets of Grant Macdonald London - as it has been since the company was founded.
Our master craftsmen have been honing their craft for their entire lives, and our workshop is based in London for a reason - it’s the historic centre of the silversmithing world, and has been since the 16th Century. Our silver is hallmarked in the London Assay Office, as an assurance of quality. By blending new technologies and traditional craft skills, we can create precious metal masterworks that have been made with all the love and care of silversmiths from a century ago, but with new and exciting features that would wow even the most talented silversmith of bygone days.
