This sterling silver lioness and her cub was created in collaboration with TUSK, and we’ve fallen in love with the display of maternal protection at play in one of our favourite pieces from the collection. The maternal instinct of the lioness is legendary - there are fewer things more fierce in nature than a lioness protecting her cub. They are some of the most dedicated mothers in the entire animal kingdom - other than yours, of course.
When you purchase the Okavango Lioness and Cub from our online store, we will donate 20% from the sale to TUSK in order to support their crucial conservation efforts. In the Okavango Delta, one of the most important lion populations in southern Africa is under threat. Due to a growing human population and a loss of habitat, these lions occupy less than 8% of the range they had historically. Killed in retaliation for loss of livestock, they are now confined to East and Southern Africa, and well-managed areas are vital for their survival.
