Art Exhibitions We Can’t Wait to See in 2025

As we look ahead to London’s 2025 art calendar, two standout exhibitions—Cartier at the V&A and Do Ho Suh at Tate Modern—will resonate with those who admire fine craftsmanship, design legacy, and innovation. For the Grant Macdonald London workshop, these exhibitions align with its ethos of combining heritage and modernity in luxury craft, embodying the principles of lasting beauty, meticulous workmanship, and the interplay of tradition and contemporary design.

Cartier at the V&A: A Celebration of Timeless Craftsmanship

Running from April to November 2025, the V&A’s Cartier exhibition will offer a deep dive into the history and artistry behind the world-renowned jewellery house. Like Grant Macdonald London, Cartier has long been synonymous with craftsmanship, and this exhibition will highlight the Maison’s unparalleled legacy in the world of high-end jewellery and timepieces. Featuring over 350 objects, it will trace Cartier’s evolution from its 20th-century origins as a jeweller to royalty, through to its present-day global influence.

This exhibition echoes the philosophy of our founder, who also built his reputation by merging traditional skills with modern innovations. By balancing heritage with contemporary luxury, Cartier and Grant Macdonald London have ensured that their creations are not just admired but can be cherished for generations.

The Cartier exhibition at the V&A will provide a fascinating glimpse into the delicate artistry of fine materials, mirroring the dedication to perfection that drives the craftsmanship behind every piece created by Grant Macdonald London.

Do Ho Suh: The Genesis Exhibition at Tate Modern

Opening in May 2025, Tate Modern (just a stone’s throw from the Grant Macdonald London workshop) will present a major exhibition by Korean-born, London-based artist Do Ho Suh. Known for his large-scale fabric installations, Suh explores themes of home, identity, and belonging. His work often invites viewers to walk through life-sized replicas of his past homes, made from translucent fabric, offering a sensory journey through spaces imbued with personal memories.

The exhibition, titled The Genesis Exhibition, will be the largest survey of Suh’s work to date, showcasing his installations, sculptures, videos, and drawings. Suh’s artistic practice raises questions about how we inhabit and move through the world, examining the tension between collective experiences and individual identity. Through his ethereal fabric structures, Suh encourages viewers to reflect on their own definitions of home and how spaces shape personal histories.

One of the highlights will be Suh’s famous fabric architecture, where visitors can physically move through corridors and rooms that evoke a sense of nostalgia and dislocation. The exhibition will also feature early works, delicate drawings, and video installations that explore Suh’s fascination with architecture and memory. New, site-specific works will also be displayed for the first time.

Suh’s work is resonant for us, because of the way we approach silversmithing. Each bespoke piece, whether for ceremonial use or luxury retail, is crafted with a focus on how it will be used and valued over time. We’re excited to attend an exhibition that promises to be a poignant experience, challenging the way we think about our relationship with the spaces in which we exist.
