As the final serves echo across the grass courts, and the last strawberries are dipped into cream, you may be feeling the loss of Wimbledon - but don’t worry. Champagne season, thankfully, is far from over. Whether you’re toasting to summer or just a moment worth savouring, the ritual of raising a glass should be as refined as the liquid sparkling inside - and for that, there’s nothing quite like our Paragon Silver Champagne Flute.
Hand-crafted in our London workshop, each Paragon flute is more than something to enjoy a cheeky bit of fizz out of - it’s a conversation between past and present, walking the line between tradition and contemporary design. The history of the champagne flute is actually quite interesting, with roots tracing back over 4,000 years. Goblets came to Britain with the Romans, and by the 15th century, English silversmiths were creating their own, many of which are now displayed in museums rather than used at table.
But the Paragon flutes are far from those dusty relics. Our flutes borrow their silhouette from the traditional designs found in 17th-century France - long, narrow, and carefully shaped to preserve every celebratory bubble. From a distance, a classic champagne flute. But once you raise a glass to take a sip, you’ll discover that the interior is 24ct gold-plated, a technique dating back to Homeric times and once reserved for emperors and nobles.
And it’s not just an elegant design choice - there’s science behind it. Gilded silver doesn’t just resist tarnish - but it also provides a chemically stable surface, ideal for champagne (and other lovely spirits). But more importantly, it’s a subtle touch of luxury that reveals itself only to the drinker - a hidden gleam at the moment of toast.
Where these flutes truly distinguish themselves, however, is in their architectural base - a filigree of geometric precision, created using CAD modelling and advanced 3D printing techniques. This open-worked design wouldn’t have been possible twenty years ago - the result of pioneering craftsmanship, where mathematical perfection meets age-old silversmithing techniques.
The Paragon Silver Champagne Flutes are ideal for gifting - so if you have a wedding anniversary or milestone birthday on the horizon, this is the perfect opportunity to make that toast a little more special. Our Paragon collection was designed to represent the very best of tableware, and our flutes are one of the items we’re particularly proud of - delicate and robust, a conversation starter, a centrepiece, and above all, a celebration of taste - in every sense of the word.
As we raise a glass to the summer season and all it brings - the tennis, the theatre, the garden parties - let’s proceed with a little sparkle in hand.
